EXPECTED ABANDONMENT OP THE AWARD. (Rec. Novombor 19, 040 a.m.) Melbourne, November IS. In view of tho War Office's decision to award n star and ribbon to nil officers and men serving before December 31, 1915, the Federal Defence authorities are of tho opinion that thoro will btf no Gallipoli Star decoration as'originally proposed. It would be an invidious distinction if given to Ahstralasian and not also awarded to tho British 29th Division, whioh participated on Galliipoli.—Press Aissn..
