FOCH'S INTERVIEW WITH THE GERMANS' ■
The.great item of news: that the public is hourly expecting-the German agreement to the Allies' armistice conditions-has not yet come, but all the. signs point to its inifflme nt' advent. Meanwhile, Germany is in the throes of a great revqliition. Berlin is hands of the revolutionaries, the red. flag has been hoi'sted, and the Kaiser and the Crown Prince have sought sanctuary in' Holland. There was some severe fighting in Berlin for about two hours. Prince Mai 'has given place to Herr Ebert, a Reichstag Socialist deputy -Mn private life a master tailor-who becomes the hew' Chancellor. Workmen and Soldiers' Councils have been Organised everywhere, and the German nobility are very naturally panic-stricken.' Meanwhile, on the Western battlefront. the sweeping advance .Of the Allies continues. The enemy, who fought hard for' a while, , 'has now practically, collapsed, and his Tetreat threatens to become a rout. Interesting statements have been made by Mr. Lloyd George and Sir Eric Geddes at' the Lord Mayor's 1 lunc, heon ; at the Guildhall.' Sir tells us that a fortnight ago there was not the slightest doubt that the German fleet would come ; -out for a final gambler's throw as a naval Armageddon, but that the .directing hand was suddenly paralysed.
