There will be concerts and dances,, a ptocession, demonstrations in Victoria Square, country and town excursions for school children, patriotic speeches, bonfires, fireworks, and religious .services. '■ - .
Hawera, 7.. A public meeting was held last night to discuss the question of a peace celebration.- The- following motion was "That a message bo sent from the citizens of Hawera.to the Premier, asking that necessary legislation be passed or such steps taken by Order-iu-Coun-cil to enable the banks :o close on the day observed for the celebration of peace, and that the head offices of the banks be requested to support the motion."
