"LEST WE FORGET"
Sir,—Amidst nil the rejoicings, bellringing, band-playing, • liquorcpuffing, rind tongue-wnfging' over . the ivelcomo downfall of our enemies, I havo, so far, not heard of any-special thanks being, given to the Lord God of Hosts, nor have I heard it-suggested that a great' public thanksgiving service should bo held to murk the triumph of Christianity over the hosts of the Evil One. Is it still to be, 111 tlie face of this stupendous chastening, a case of the "frantic word and foolish boast," instead of a spirit of deeply devout thankfulness that the right has prevailed? "To your orisons, all people of earth, and thank the Great Mover of v all things for his aid divine!" —I am, etc., CHRISTIAN.
