SCENE IN HOUSE OF COMMONS
There was an. extraordinary incidcmt at tho House of Commons last evening (etates tho London "Daily 'J olegraph ot August 9). Presently the man walked up to the notice-board upon which, are posted the official notices, and after perusing them for a minute or two. ho pulled out a box of matches, struck one, and eet light to the papers. He stood and watched his handiwork with evident satisfaction until attendants rushed forward, tori) tho papers down, and seized the man. Ho struggled and. nhoulcd, 'I resent tho dirty attack on Mr. Hughes. It is an insult not only fo Mr. Hushes, fait to Australia. It was a cowardly attack Ho continued to flhout Iho words all the way )o tho inspect or'e office. Later in Iho evening he was sqnt away, and ii is understood that ho will not be charged.
