"THE GONDOLIERS." Despite- the wretched weather there was a good attendance at the performance of "Tho Gondoliers" last evening. Every part of Ilia performance was rewarded with hearty applause. A matinee will he, given 'on Saturday, afternoon in aid of tho Heturned Soldiers' Clubhouse Appeal. Specially reduced prices will be charged, and patrons aro requested to book early at the Bristol. In the event of a general, holiday being declared, the day sales will be made in the vestibule of the Opera House, where tho plun will be on view. KING'S THEATRE. Mabel Noriuand will bid farewell to patrons of the King's -Theatre to-night in the Goldwyu feature drama "Dodging a Million." "The Belgian," a kincniatographic work of an educational historical nature will be the feature of the new programme to be screened to-morrow. Few subjects offer greater scope for stirring the minds and imaginations of men and women than the heroic stand of the Belgians throughout the war period, and the producers of this picture are said to .have availed themselves to the full of their opportunities. The story the picture tells is that of a man and a woman who, in faco of practically certain death, defied the Hunnish hordes who desired to desecrate their home. Tho soven acts of the film, it is said, do not contain a tame part. Supporting this feature is the ninth episode of "The Fatal King" entitled "Dice of Death." x
EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. Gloria Swanson will be seen for the last time to-night at Everybody's Theatre in tho Triangle feature entitled "Tho Runaway Wife." "The Knife," described aB a gripping photoplay. with real heartinterest, in the title of Alice Brady's latest Select production to be screened to-mor-row. It tells a story of modern metropolitan life in all its uplifting and degrading aspects contrasted with the peaceful idylls of an old-fashioned Southern home. Alice Brady portrays the role of Kate Tarleton, a young Southern girl who. while on a visit to New York, is led into a trap masked as a fortune-toller's establishment. Hero she is drugged and kept a prisoner. Her fiancee- and guardian lo ; cateshcr with the aid of detectives and rescues her. He avenges her treatment at tho hands of her captors in a unique but adequate fashion. The situations provided are said to be very dramatic, and the end finely contrived.
EMPRESS THEATRE. The final screenings will bo riven at the Empress Theatre to-day and' to-night of "Tho Oldest Law" and also Tuesday night's big fire. Tho special attraction for the change of programme to-morrow will bo an Essanay drama. "Efficiency Edgar's Courtship," starring Taylor Holmes." The story is described as a delightful ono of a modern business man who tried a new way to win a ?irl. The plot is said to. be quite a novel one.
