INCREASE NECESSARY TO PROVIDE EFFICIENT SCHOOLS. By Telegraph-—Frees Association. Napier, November i. At a large nublio meeting to-night the following resolutions were carried:— "That this meeting "heartily endorses the opinion that the timo hns arrived when the Parliamentary grants for educational purposes in this Dominion should reach the sum of ,E3,0C0,000 a year,; as such-sum is necessary to provide efficient schools for the national welfare." "That the status of the teaching profession should be raised, salaries paid in keeping with the work.'' "That greater inducements should bo given to young people to enter tho teaching profession,"
