RAILWAY SMASH AT BROOKLYN, U.S.A.

New York, November 2. In the. Brooklyn railway collision all the'passengers in the first car were killed, and also many in the second. More than a hundred were injured. The accident occurred in the middle of the tunnel, wliioh greatly hampered tho rescue work. Tho District Attorney has ordered the arrest of tho railway company officials. It is alleged that inexperienced motormen were employed. J.ne loss of life is the heaviest in any metropolitan railway accident in New York.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
