CAPTAIN GUY GAUNT
PROMOTED REAR-ADMIRAL. (Rec. November 2, 5 p.m.) London, November 1. Captain Guy Gaunt, well known in New Zealand, has been promoted Rear-Admiral.-Aus.-N.Z. Cable/Asm. [Reav-Admiral Gaunt is a son of the late Mr. Justice Gaunt, of Melbourne. His brother, Rear-Admrial Ernest Gaunt, commands a division of the British Battle Fleet, and was at the Battle of Jutland. Hoar-Admiral.Guy Gaunt has been for seme iime employed as. naval attache to the republics of America, with headquarters at Washington. Back m 18!)'J he commanded tho British Consulate during an attack on Apia, in tho Samoan rebellion, and subsequently raised and commanded Gaunt's Brigade. He has served during the present war.]
