TIMARU SHOW
By Telegraph—Prcsß Association. Tiniaru, October 31. For people's day <ft the annual show of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-day, there was a sunDy sky, but a cold wind. The attendance was 'between eight and nine thousand, and is a great falling off. The chief breeds of sheep were each represented by oue exhibitor, and not.all the breeds were entered even, Borders being absent. . E. Kella'nd, English Leicester; R. Parry, Shropshires; New Zealand Land Co. (Sloeraki), Lincolns. and Corriedalcs; and L. Mathias, Southdownu, received championship tickets. The entries of draught horses were few. The championship was awarded to A. O'Brien (Oamaru) far Scotland's Sport (imported), which won a .£2O prize on tho farmers' vote at the Timniu horse parade. ' a There were food entries in light horses, and the jumping was good. Ponies were, also a good section. A strong feature was the cattle section. ,In fat steers and Priesian and Jersey dairy stock there were several exhibitors of each. ■
The entering was in the hands of the Ladies' Patriotic Guild, and the profits of. the show will be- divided among three patriotic funds. j
