FRIENDLY SOCIETIES
Tho annual. report of the Registrar of Friendly Societies was presented to the House of Representatives yesterday. It showed that the 730 lodges in the Ilomiiiiou at the end of lost year had a total membership of U5.771, as against 70,085 at the end of the previous year. The total funds of tho societies and their 'branches at the end of last year amounted to i'2,05'2,753, made up of sick and funeral fuiids (inclusive of amount transferred to special funds out of euTplus .£1,898,129), medical and management*' funds, etc., ■ '$151,624. Tho' average capital per member was i£29 17s.
