The main reason is that conditions of weather lh the one hemisphere are likely to be reflected in the other, the trend ot the atmosphere being towards the east. A gloat storm in America may have its counterpart to a greater or less deerqo in Europe some days afterwards. Fanweather in the Western Hemisphere may mean the same over in the other hemisphere 'within the week. The American reports give considerable aid in forecasting conditions favourable for aeroplane, artillery, and other military operations,
