» — : — The'annual meeting and conference of the New Zealand Yetemiua' Association was presided over by Captain T. Humphries (Tnrauaki). Others present were: Major Preece, N.Z.C.; Major I |! . Garner (Palmerston North), Major Loinax (Wanganui), Lieutenant-Colonel it'lntosh, Mir. Lingard, N.Z.C.; Captain Henry, Mr. Tingey, Mr. Davidson (Wei. lington), Mr. Harden (Taranaki), and Captain B. Tregear, 1.5.0., general secretary;. An apology for absence was received from Colonel Porter, C.8., an address 'by whom was included in the annal (report. Tlio chairman spoke feelingly of the keen interest taken by the veterans in the splendid work of New Zealand's Army in the war. Owing to pressing duties elsewhere,. Colonel Porter retired from the vicepresidency, and Captain Tregear from the general seco'etaryship. The following officers for tho ensuing year were electedLieutenant-Colonel' M'lntosh, T.D., to be vice-president; Mr. Davidson (secretary Wellington branch), to bo general secretary and treasurer; Captain Humphries, to be auditor; Mr. Tingey, trustee; Major Lomax, Captain Humphries, Mr. Lingard, N.Z.C., Mr. Tingey, Standing Executive Committee. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of ;Cl6 9s. in the Savings Bank, as headquarters fund. The following motions were passed:— That questions relating to military pensions be referred foe action to Executive Committee; that the Executive Committee entor into negotiations during recess with the King's Empire Veterans with a view to amalgamation; that tho branches be notified that when pence is proclaimed there should 'be » parade and social in Wellington—the Wellington branch to entertain visitors and endeavour to arrange free passes; that address be presented to the ex-general secretary (Mr. S. Stidoloh), Uio cost to be defrayed by New Zealand veterans only; thnt the executive take in hnncl the question of shifting annual conferences to different branch (.entres; that Wan Ran ni bj tho place of meeting for the unxt annual conference. With votes of tlmnks to LieutenantColonel M'Tntosh for prjsidinor. and to the ex-goneral secretary (Captain TreItenr) for his work during the the conference closed, after singing "God Save the King!"
