■ WORK OF THE HALF-YEAR. The charitable aid returns'for the half-' year elided September 30 continue,' on the 'whole, to show a decrease all round. At Hie monthly meeting of the Wellington "Hospital mid Charitable Aid Board on Thursday the Charitable Aid Committee submitted a statement showing the 'daily average number of persons'in receipt of relief, with a comparisoii • with the ; figures for the corresponding period of last year, which shows ft ■substantial decrease in the number'o|-individual applicants for relief.
