NEW ZEALAND ALLIANCE

ANNUAL MEETING.

Owing to the presentation of tho petition to tho Primo Minister and Sir Joseph Ward, the session was not opened till 11.45 a.m. yesterday. The newlyelected president, tho liev. R. S. Gray occupied tho chair.

A general discussion took place on the chairman's address on the subject of Position and Future Prospects," also upon a scheme of organisation presented by tho Rev. W. H. Henton.

Votes of thanks were passed to the following: Tho originators of the competition, the Mayor of Wellington, and Mr. Stewart, for acting as scrutineers and custodians of the names of tho competitors; tho judges; to the Publicity Committee; to tho Rev. J. W. Comrie, chairman of the executive; Mr. J. W. Brown, treasurer; Mr. E. Budd,'auditor; to tho hosts and hostesses for entertaining delegates; to the office staff for their loyal and faithful services; and to the' minute secretaries and reporters. Special thanks were passed to the chairman, speakers, and organist at the mass meetings; also to the Canadian helpers, and to the editor of the "Vanguard," the Rev. W. J. Mlliams.

The following resolution was put on record relative to the work of the general secretary, the Rev. J. Dawson: "That tins pieeting conveys to tho Rev. J. Dawson its sincere thanks for his valuable services as secretary of the New Zea-, land Alliance, and expresses its gratitude for his earnest and devoted entiusiasiii in tho interests of the Alliance during tiio past year." Ppo'.'.ial mention was made of tho great ability that tho Rev. R, S.- Gray had displayed in the position of Dominion organiser, and he and his church were heartily thanked.
