FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT i P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for high eouthcrly and south-easterly wind's northwards of Farewell Spit ' and Knilioura, and increasing easterly to northerly winds elsewhere. ■■ A continuance of unsettled weather is probable, with ■ rain generally, and heavy rain and flooded rivers in the East Ooast districts of the North Island. Barometer unsteady, -with a fallinit tendency soon in tho south. A disturbance centred in the north accounted for cold and stormy conditions, especially in and northwards of Oook Strait. Rain hae fallen in many parts of the country, and snow on somo of tho higher levels. South and eouth-east, winds, etrong to gale, have predominated. •■ D. 0. BATES. Director.
