Tho New Zealand Loan end Mercantile. Agency Company, Ltd., report that at their Levin yards on Tuesday, they offered a fair yarding of sheep and a uood entry of cattle. Tho New Zealand Loan nnd Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their Maaterton spring cattle fair, held on October 22, in Colombo Hoad yards. Buyers were present from tho Bush districts and Manawatu, and local men wqre well represented. Tho yarding on tho whole consisted of well-bred Hereford, Shorthorn, and Polled Angus cattle, Herefords predominating. Well-grown bullocks were not tt well represented as uttial, but there were some Bplendid lines of j'oung cattle. All good lines met with keen competition at satisfactory prices, and we report almost a total clearance under the hammer at the following prices:—loß Hereford, Shorthorn, and Polled Angus cross yearling steers, on account of Messrs. Percy Bros., £9 95.; 40 cows and calves.on account \V. Coulter, £14; 31 yearling steers on account Lansdon Bros., £9 155.; 19 2-year Hereford lieifere on account J. W. Buchanan, £12 2s.
