PAPAROA COAL MINING CO.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the first deben-ture-holders of the i'aparoii Coal Mining Company was held in the Chamber of Uominerco at noon yesterday, Mr. T. Shailer IVeaton presiding. The report of the receivers (which has alrcadv been printed) was, on the motion of the chairman, secondod by Mr. J. A. Pliiumer, adopted. Mr. Woston Rave, in addition, a resume of the present position of the company, now being worked at a profit, and also read a report on the state of the minoa aud plant from Mr. Bain, the mino manager. Messrs. T. S. Weston, William Ferguson, and H. D. Vickery were reappointed receivers for the ensuing year. _
On tho motion of Mr. William Barton a committee was set up to go into tho matter of the disposal of the company's property, either to a company formed of the present first debenturc-holdera, or such of them as were, prepared to convert their debentures into shares, with or without other now capital, or in another \ray dispose of the valuable property as a Going concern for the benefit of tho first deben-ture-holders. The receivers promised to give tho committee every assistance in their power to bring about a new order of things. Messrs. Clarke and Menzics were reappointed auditors at the same remuneration as last year.
