Members of the New Zealand Club yesterday offered the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. W. F. llassey) hearty congratulations on the military honours won by his eon, Major F. Masscy. Storey, Hamilton, who has been awarded the Military Medal, left with the Seventeenth Reinforcements as a private. He was wounded at Messines, and after recovering returned to the trenches, and was wounded agiiiu on August 20 last. His father, who .left with the Nineteenth Reinforcements, and is now also lance-corporal, was also wounded at Messines. The Bey, John Shiers lUshworth died at his residence at Devonport, Auckland, on Monday. Mr, Eishworlh, who was in his 82nd year, was born in Yorkshire, and came to New Zealand as a young man. Ho entered the Methodist ministry in 186-1, and was appointed to the Waikato. The following year lie was uppointed, to Onchiinna, and after ministering elsewhere, ho returned there in 1869. At various times he was stationed in Wellington, Greyiown, Invercargill, Hokitika, Blenheim, Hull, Sydenham, Oamarii, Cambridge, and Kioliniond, Nelson, from which last place lie retired in 1891, and was superannuated m 1895. ijr. Bishworth had been an invalid for some years. He leaves a widow, one daughter, and seven sous. The sons are: Major J. N. Rishworth, director of Dental Services; Mr. Howard Bishworth, on ■ active service; Mr. 1\ Eishworth, Auckland; Mr. P. Kishworth, Wellington; Mr. Horace Eishworth, Masterton; Mr. Hugh Biphworth, Wliangarei; and two others in Australia.

An old identity, Mrs. Annio Palmer, widow of the late Mr. Alfred Palmer, of Morton Park, Awhitu, died on Monday at Atwhitu, at the aye of 93. Mrs. Palmer was a native of Swansea, Wales, and belonged to the very old Welsh family of Leeker.

Sergeant Andrew Jackson Blyth, who died of pneumonia while on active service, was the second sou of Mr. and Mrs. D. Blyth, of Chrislchurch. At the outbreak of war he enlisted with the 6th Hauraki Company, and served throughout the Gallipoli campaign. Being transferred to Prance he went through the big battles there unscathed. About a year ago he was transferred from the infantry to the machine-gun corps, and later was one of several selected for special duty in Mesopotamia. There he found the climate very trying, and eventually succumbed to illness. Four of deceased's brothers have seen considerable service at the war.
