ALLIES CLOSE TO BULGARIAN BORDER New York, October 21. The French and Serbians have reached Zaitchar (-15 miles north-east of JMsn, and close to the Bulgarian frontier) .- Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assu. FRENCH COMMUNIQUE. (Rec. October 22, 10.35 p.m.) London, October 21. A French Eastern communique states: -"Our troops on October 19 reached the Danube in tho region of Vidin, and proceeded to stop the traffic. An enemy monitor was forced ashore under our gunfire. The Allied forces have captured Zaitchar. The Serbians on -the Morava are in contact north of Alexsintaz and Krushevatz with the Germans, who are strongly entrenched."—Aus.-N A. Cable Assn.-Reuter.
