-9 BELGIAN DECORATIONS. (Special Dispatch from the New Zealand Official Correspondent.) October 17. His Majesty the' King of the Belgians lias awarded General Sir Andrew Russell the decoration of Commander of tho Order of Leopold, with the Croix do Guerre. The ceremony of investiture was performed by General Ortc, Chief of tho Belgian Mission at British Headquarters, who stated that the King of tho Belgians fully realised the remarkable generosity with which the people of New Zealand had subscribed to the Belgian Relief Fund.and also (jreatly appreciated the fact that tho division which General Russell commanded had won back tho first Belgian town—Messines-eincc tho German invasion of his country. He added that His Majesty had watched with great interest the victorious career of the division both in Belgium and in France.
