Manila, and Kine Abbey in that order. .Affectation and Kins; Abbey delayed tho start, but tho field went oil" in a good line Doimy Briar, King Abbey, and Samarantf were leading Solfanella and liucia at tho end of a- furlong, with the others strung out. Bonny Briar and Ixunarnnsf wero first into tlio straight, but over the last part fioso Wreath and Warplane joined in. -whilo King Abbey got through on tho raile. Warplane finished very, fast, and beat King Abbey by a leiiKth, with Hose Wreath right up, nod aoit'anella and Bonuy UHar nest. Fuloia and Manila both got bad uassuges. The winner is a very luuidsomo-looking colt by Martian from Adelicia, and carries Mr. boring Johnston's colours. 'I'hero was a iiold of twenty-two in tho Flying Handicap,, and tlio public selected JJo-I'cep, tho Kcmuall Bracket, and CyreBiaii in that order. Nobleman on the inside v.-as quickest, to bc-sin, but ho was «uon cut oil, and Inali. Kanna. and Mill i> (iowrio led a, strung-out field into tho straight. liuili held hw own in tho run home, and won comfortably from Mill o' Uowrio, with ilastio, who came from a long way back, close up third. Na-nna was tho next to finish. None of tho top-weights ivcre fancied on tho machine, and they all ran telovr form. Hoyal Chef was not an acceptor for tho race. Classification carried most money in tho I urse, and ho came in by himself. Fisher, a well-booked candidate, cot off badly, and (snowed no pace on tho journey/ Sarbonite led into tho straight from Classification and Bio. and in the rim to the post the foxton horso won easily from Kio, with Snrbomte two lengrtha away. Maudrako was the only liorso supported stronprly in the mile hack raco, but his snowing was only moderate, and after being In the van for seven furlongs ho commenced to lire, and was beaten out of a place. Black Hill accompanied the favourite nil''the way, and won by a narrow margin from Persian Princo, who mushed well. Penury ftoee was third, and Wapplng and Mandrake next. Another hot favourite- in Mamjamahoo was badly beaten in tho Cup, in which the outsider of tho field, Battle Sons, won after a very close. finish with Mascot. Volo, Mascot, and P>attlo Song inado tho running into tho straight, where Volo ro;tired. Mascot and Battle Sour then led Bagdad, Depredation, and Mangauiahoe. Tho loaders held their own, and in aclose finish Battle Bong finished a, head in front. Client, who. finished very w>ll, was third, and then came Depredation and MnngJimahbo.
