The following temporary , appointments havo been approved-by the Camp Commandant at Trentluim:—Headquarters (Camp Commandant's offico): Pte. G. J. A. Blnckie, to be corporal. Special Training Class: Pte. It. D. lkpliael, to be sergeant. C Company, Fortyninth Reinforcements: Corpls. S F. Bass, A. A. M'Dougall, to be .sergeants. A Company, Forty-fourth Reinforcements: Ser'gt. G. A. P. Smith, to be compnny serecant-maior. Special Training Class: Pte. 0. 11. Walter, to bo sergeant. The Camp Commandant at Trentham acknowledges with thanks receipt of the following gifts:—From the Salvation Army, Wellington, gramophone and records, cake, fruit, and sweets, weekly; from the Red Cross, Wcllingaii. bed jackets; from the Soldiers' Comforts Guild, Wellington, three cases fruit, cignrettes, tobacco, chocolate, soap and toilet requisites; Gnlvin and Co., parcel of cigarette tobacco and papers. During the war 12 French deputies have given their lives for Franco.
