REVOLUTIONARY DEMANDS
MADE BY" DUNEDIN TRAMWAY EMPLOYEES.

Dunedin, October. 16. | A conference was held to-day between representatives of tho Dunedin tramway proprietaries and the Tramways Union to consider the men's claims for incrensed wages and changes m the conditions of employment. At a preliminary meeting regarding the question of representation, the president of the union made a statement, and after the union representatives had retired those present carried a motion that as the president of the union had stated that tho demands were of a_ revolutionary nature, and that in his opinion tho inevitable result would be to invoke a Labour Disputes Investigation Act, further action must rest with the. union. Apparently, if the union wishes to take further action it must apply to .the Minister of Labour, who lias power to appoint a commission consisting of three from each side 1 , with an impartial chairman, to consider tho matter.
