VIOLENT FIGHTING SOUTH OF NISH ENEMY REINFORCED BY GERMAN DIVISIONS London, October 13. A French Eastern communique states: -"There was violent fighting on Thursday south of Nish between the Serbians and the enemy, who was reinforced by new German divisions. Coun-ter-attacks by German Alpine corps on tho left bank of tho llorava were shattered with heavy enemy losses. East of the.Morava the Serbs continue to advance in the hills south of Nish. Since September 15, including the Eleventh German-Bulgarian Army, which was surrounded in the Kitcbevo and Kelkandeleu Passes and surrendered, the Allies have captured ninety thousand prisoners, including sixteen hundred officers and five generals, two thousand hundreds of machineguns, and .immense booty."—Aus.-N.Z. A French Eastern communique states: "The Serbians on Saturday morning occupied Nish, which the enemy had been ordered to defend at all costs.. The Serbians gained a footing on the hills north of the town. Severe fighting preceded the capture of Nish, in which the Serbians captured six guns. French cavalry, farther east, entered Bslapalanka. The Serbians on the Nish-Pirot road, west of the Mordva, have reached Enrokoplie, Mirosina, Miramor. The Fronch in Upper Serbia have occupied Prin, Prizrend, and Mitrovitza." —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter. SERBIAN OFFICIAL REPORT (Eec. October 14, 9.45 p.m.) London, October 13. A Serbian official report slates: "We occupied after hard fighting the whole of Selichevitza mountain. We have reached Goritza. Our cavalry }$ advancing towards Kourchoumlia and Prokoupye. We took_ many prisoners, many of them belonging to three, new German divisions. We captured six guns."—Aus.-N.Z. GERMAN OFFICIAL REPORT (Rec. October 14, 9.20 p.m.) London, Ostober 13. A mreless German official report states: "In the fate of strong attacks we retired to the heights'north of Nisli, Nish has been occupied by the enemy." —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Eeuter. The Serbian Premier, in an interview, stated that Serbia needed a very slight rectification of the frontier to safeguard the railways towards Rumania and Salonika, but that Serbia and the other Bnlkan States were willing' to forgive tho Bulgnrs for oppressing their peoples.—Eeuter.
