YESTERDAY'S PROCEEDINGS. Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M., presided over yesterday's sittings of the Magistrate's Court. n Margaret Cusworth, • alias Margaret Reid, who was charged with helpless drunkenness, was convicted and order-ed-to come up for sentence when celled upon, a condition being that she remains in the Magdalen Home,; Christchurch, for a period of tiVelve months. For insobriety, Thomas, Elliott was fined £1 and prohibited. Edward Bloomfield pleaded guilty to a fourth appearance for drunkenness, and to haying broken the terms of his prohibition order. On the second charge he was'fined £2, in default seven days' detention, and on the first he was convicted and discharged. Arthur Watson Green was remanded until to-morrow on a charge of having assaulted a female, with intent to commit rape. ' Frederick Hardy M'Gregor • was ordered, to pay 80s. per week towards the maintenance of hie wife. For the disobedience of a maintenance order, John Evans was sentenced to two months' imprisonment at Greymouth, the warrant to be suspended so long as defendant pays ISs. weekly off the arrears, £31 2s. 2d. Ivy Pamele Cooper was granted a separation order against her husband, Frederick Stephen Cooper.
