Tho Debutant Stakoa was a great race, Angelia, on the rails, just won in the last etases. The early leader, Gamblers' Gold, was n very close third The Caulfleld Stalt.es was run in the rain. I.t was a good thine for Magpie, who i>aslly caught tho leader, Prince Bardolph, in lho straight and won comfortably. Wedgo just beat Ethiopian. Tho victory of Magpie was cheered. Outlook was interfered with after the start in the (Juiueas, and his chance spoilt. Euscbius won brilliantly, and was going fast at llm finish. Drumore was a. good third.
