Auckland, October 12. • The Arbitration Court, in the carpenters' award, increased the war bonus from twopence to nour, as from October 21. The rate for carpenters and joiners, with bonus, is now Is. 9d. per hour-the highest in Aus'itNs understood that painters' wages are increased from Is. 4*d. to Is. csd. per hour, with a bonus of threepenco Pe T}ie° U Coxirt decided that an award-, should be made in the soft goods trace, and referred the dispute back to the Conciliation Council for consideration on its merits.
