SETTLED AT LAST
TRAMWAY MEN SATISFIED,
It was announced at noon on Saturday that the p.m. tramway shift meeting held during tho morning had approved the proposed new agreement made by their representatives in', conference with the ohief officers of the Tramways Department before the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. W. Newton). As the a.m. shift at a meeting held on Friday evening had likewise given their'approval to the new agreement, nothing now remains but for the Wellington City Council to meet and ratify the agreement already tentatively made by their representatives. The details of the terms of settlement are not to be published in full until both parties have ratified the 6ame. All that can be \ said is that the men have accepted a scale of overtime pay a little better than has been paid m the The meeting of the City Council to ratify the agreement will be held at 4.30' p.m. to-day, providing that such a time of meeting does not clash with any ceremony of welcome to be extended to the Prime Minister (Right Hon. W. F. Massoy) and % Sir Joseph. Ward.
