PALMEIiSTON NORTH ENTEPJ'IUSE. A decided innovation in Iho book business lias been started by Messrs. G. H. Bennett and Co., the well-known booksellers of Palmerston North. Headers of "The Dominion" have nil heard of Studio's celebrated library in England, which circulates books .throughout tho whole of Great Britain. Messrs. Bennett and Co.'s innovation is a most praiseworthy attempt to imitate the methods adopted by this celebrated library, and they have started a lending library which is already rendun« many homes in the Wellington and JlnwkeYßny districts. Tho Manawntu Book Club, to give it its proper title, has been formed for the purpose of circulating now and current literature throughout Hie .Dominion. As the parcels are sent by rail or post, no dweller in (he back-blocks is 100 remoto to secure the benefits of this libvary and thus have the advantage of being kept in touch with tho must up-to-dato literature. Tho library is housed in a beautiful room iii the linn's new premises in Broadway, I'almerston N. The volumes are all covered with a neat antiseptic reil cloth. Subscribers can rely on getling the very latest books, as every endeavour is made to meet tho demand for popular literature by putting into circulation as many volumes of a book as are required. In some instances no fewer than :<,"> copies of ono book have gone into circulation. The terms are most moderate, and compare more than favourably wilh the prices charged by .similar institutions in Australia, Por ' instance, the annual charge for four books :'s 4is., for six hooks 50s. and for eight books (ills. This includes carriage one way, (lie return carriage being paid by the subscriber. The books can be changed as often as desired. It is not surprising to learn that this admirable, attempt to meet a. long-felt, need is meeting with the success it deeprves.—{Published by. Arnunremcnl.) ,
