RETURNING MINISTERS
PROPOSED RECEPTION AT AUCK- • LAND. By Telegraph—l'rcs3 Association. Auokland, October 11. A public reception to Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward was proposed by the Mayor of Auckland on the lines of tho proceedings followed on the occasion of the two Ministers' return from England last year, namoly, a luncheon ard citizens' demonstration in the * Town Hall. , Tho Mayor had arranged for cooperation in the matter with the president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and other local authorities. On communication of his plans to the Act-ing-Prime Minister (Sir James' Allen), Mr. Gunson received a telegram thanking him for the proposal, but requesting that, in ordqj. to fit in with other •Ministerial arrangements, the reception should be deferred until another occasion.
