ITALIAN RED CROSS FUND
At a meeting of the executivo and stallholders of tho Italian Red Cross Fund a statement of the receipts and expenditure was read by tho treasurer, Mr. J. H. Hcllhvell. To date the .amounts received are:—Donations. £2558 16s. 3d.; Hon. T. M. Wilford's lecture, £42 2s. 6d.; Colonel Hughes's lecture and concert, Island Bay, £50; drapers' ball, £75 13s. 10d.; St.. Anno's Hall dance, £20 195.; Italian Market, £727 lis. 5d.; street collections and sale of badges, £254 lis. 7d.: total, £3735 14s. 7d. The total expenditure to date is £177 13s. 4d., tho net balance in hand being £3558 Is. 3d. Several large amounts are still to come, including the raffles for the two large oil paintings. It was decided last night to postpone the drawings for these until December 20. I'ho chairman, Mr. L. 0. H. Tripp, announced that a very substantial subscription to the fund was expected from .tho Wairarapa district. Tho Garibaldi Club, representing the Italians of. the district, have subscribed tho sum of £250: The treasurer also stated that le had transmitted the sum of £2500 to the headquarters of the New Zealand Italian Red Cross, Auckland. In addition to the sum already acknowledged, the following amounts havo been received by the committee of the Italian Red Cross Fund:—R. M. Fell, £a; J. Chambers and Son, Ltd., £25; Associated Banks, £100; "5.D.," £1 Is.; Feilding and District Patriotic Sopicty, £68 16s. 6d.; W. O. Kelly, £1 10s.; J. Nathan and Co., Ltd., £50; Garibaldi Club, £249 65.; Mr. and Mrs. S. Harcourt, £5 55.; "J.8.H.," £5. '
