MIRAMAR AFFAIRS

MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. ■ J

The Miramar Borough Council held a meeting last evening, when there were present:—Mr. S. H. Underwood (Deputy-Mavor) and Councillors M. I. Tracy, W. H. Green, H. K. RobertShaw, nnd C. A. Chapman. Tho ' "Wellington Harbour Board wrote, offering the council a etrip cf land in order to permit of the widening of Awa Road, thereby enabling the board to subdivide further reserves.

It was agreed to accept dedication of the land, provided the approval of the Public Works Department is obtained to the road being less in width than tho provisions 61 the Public Works Act require. The, council decided to meet the officials of tho "Worser Bay Swimming Club for the purpose of arranging for a site for the new clubhouse on tho foreshore.

At a special meeting held prior to the ordinary meeting tho council amonded the wording of the by-law relating to wandering stock in order to make bettor provision for dealing with cases df this nature.
