SAroA OCCUPIED London, October 9. An official message from the Pales-tine-Syria front states: "Our cavalry on Sunday (the 6th) occupied Zahle and Kayak, respectively 33 and 30 miles north-west of Damascus. We captured considerable rolling stock, ammunition, and engineers' stores. The enemy evacuated Beirut and retired northwards. We have occupied Saida (the Biblical Sidon) unopposed.
