Wellington City Corporation and the Tramway Employees' Union to further discuss matters concerning tlia basis for the payment of the overtime' rate came to an end last evening. An agreement, or rather the basis of an agreement, was arrived at between the parties, under the presidency of the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. W. Newton), and it will bo submitted _to both bodies concerned for ratification before being made public. It is assumed that the men will hold shift meetings to-day to consider the new proposal tentatively agreed upon.
