HOME AGAIN
RETURNED DRAFT FROM THE
HOLY LAND.
Now Zealand troopers, gunners, airmen, and men of the Camel Corps to the number of 150, who have been "mixing it" in the Holy Land, returned to Wellington yesterday via Sydney by the Moeraki. The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) was ono of the first on board when the vessel was berthed, and on behalf of the citizens gave tho men n hearty welcome Captain Pryor aud Mr. Stott, of the Voluntary Motor Corps, were on hand with a number of cars to convey the men to their respective destinations in town. It was noticed that each car as it drove away with its load of soldiers was decorated with tho "lied Cross drive" emblem, showing that oven whilst engaged on what is really "Bed Cross" work, they had each and all paid their bit in hard cash towards the big "drive" fund. 'The men.wero nearly all in good fettle once moro after their long oceau trip, and the great majority will soon be normal again after a spell in the revivifying an of their native land. It is expected that another transport with approximately 500 men will put in an appearance very shortly, and ninety car-owners have been warned to hold themselves in readiness for the heavy work that will be entailed. DRAFT 176 TO-DAY. Draft 176, which arrived late last night, will disembark this afternoon. The draft is comprised of thirty officers, two nurses, two chaplains, and 571 other ranks, Notice giving full particulars will, according to Base Records Office, bo posted this morning at the head of the wharf, the Post Office, and newspaper offices.
