ARBITRATION COURT
The Arbitration- Court commenced its sittings in Wellington yesterday morning. His, Honour Mr. Justice Stringer presided, and with him were Mr. ,W. Scott (employers' representative) and Mr. J. A. M'Oullough (workers\ropresen.tativo). ■ . In the compensation ; claim' of H. Walker against Alice Tyerman and another, Mr. P. J. O'llogan ; en behalf of Mr. H. F. O'Leary, intimated that there was every' possibility of tho case being settled, 'but nslccd , for a provisional fixture for Wednesday, October 9, which was granted. 'Tli'o Court fixed Monday next at 10 a.m. for the hearing of the case of Eliza Man- M'Cann v. the Union Steam Ship Go. "Ltd. I ■ ' The dispute of tho Wellington United Store-men's Union was set down for hearing' on Tuesday at 10 a.m. On Wednesday at 2- p.m. the Court will hear an'application in connection with the Wellington City Gasworks Award, for an addition to the award to enable tho employers to put on learners at stoking. ■ Tho Wellington saddlers' dispute was set down for hearing on Thursday at 10 a.m. -Applications to add. .parties were granted unopposed' to tho Wellington Engineers' Award and the Wellington Private Hotels and .Restaurant Workers' Award. Tho complete 'agreement reached in the Wellington brewers, bottlers, bottle-washers, nml aerated water employees' dispute.was ratili.cd by the Court. Tlio Court adjourned to Monday at 10 a.m.
