A scheme for preventing parasites of the cabbage family from depositing their eggs comes from the U.S.A. Department of Agriculture. It consists in placing sand saturated with kerosene—a cupful to a bucket of dry sand—at the base of tho plants along the rows. It will also kill young maggots.
