CITY COUNCIL
Tho Wellington City Council met last evening. There were present the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), Councillors J. E. Fitzgerald, 11. A. Wright, J. Castle, J. O. Shorlaud, M. F. Luekie, L. M'Kenzie, A. K. Atkinson, W. 11. Bennett, J. Godber, and G. Frost.
It was resolved: "That the Wadestown 'Municipal Electors' Association be informed in roply to their request for tho construction of steps in Wade Street' Extension that the committee have asked the City Engineer to submit a. report as to tho best method of providing a means of access along this street, together with a plan of the proposal, and when such is received tho association will ,be further advised."
An offer to sell to tilio council certain laud at Wadestown for tramway extension purposes was not accepted. The Reserves Committee reported that they had authorised an application being made for six months' leave from military service for tho caretaker of Williams Park, on tho recommendation of the recreation grounds > overseer.
