At a meeting of the Ditnedin coal companies on Monday tho question of the increased price, of stores, material, and explosives used in the mines, and the increased war bonus of 10 per cent, and 7-i per cent, to all mine workers was considered. It was decided that the price of Kaitanguta, Waronui, and Green Island coals should, be advanced by .Is. per ton as from October 1. Tho price of Taratu coal was raised ]s. (xl. per ton in August in anticipation of these increases.
