BOWLS

PENNANT FIXTURES FOR THE SEASON. The bowling season will open in earnest on Saturday next. Though the weather hag been distinctly unpleasant, and against the best influences of ■ spring, many of the greens are in excellent condition, though naturally on the soft side after the drenchiug showers of Tuesday night. The value of doing so will be appreciated in' the succeeding February and March. For that reason;-among other, tho pennant comes will not commenco until November 2 —four weeks hence.
