MOSLEM UNREST IN INDIA
STATEMENT BY THE VICEROY. Simla, September 27. Lord Cholmsford, Viceroy of India, in a speech at the closing of the Council's session, referring to the unrest among the Moslems, who appeared to be disappointed at their inadequate representation in the franchise scheme, deplored tho recent unfortunate disturbances at Calcutta, with its grievous death-roll. The Moslems could rest assumed thiit their representation would be upheld and their wirier interests always safeguarded. Amidst much applauso, he referred to the glorious share of the Indian forces in the. Palestine victory.—Renter.
