The membership of tho Maranui Surf and Life Saving Club is now 191—110 men and 78 lames. Mr. Jack. Glassou, who was killed in action in Franco on September 7, was n member of the staff of tho Bank of Now Zealand. Ho enlisted and left with tlio Twenty-second Reinforcements, and lias two other brothel's with the Expeditionary Force, ono severely wounded, in England. Ho was a son ol' Mr. 11. A. Ghsson, of Christchurch, and grandson of the late Ucv. Henry Glassou, B.A.j N.R,, one time vicar ol' Avonside.
