GAMING HOUSE RAIDED
CHINESE HEAVILY FINED. Ey Telcgrapli—Prcßß Association. Auckland, September 30. The police on Sunday afternoon raided Chinese premises in Wakefield Street, alleged to have been used as a gaming house, arrested 41 .Chinamen, and seized a. large quantity of coins used in play, marked pak-a-poo tickets, and a complete plant, for running a pak-a-poo lottery. The arrested men had £362 in their possession, one man having £102 and another £56. At the Police Court Fong Lin, convicted of keeping the house; was lined £100. Wong Tim, for assisting, was mulcted in a similar fine.
