Fred Roberts, at halfback, gave' a ifew glimpses of tho form which won him fame on tho All-Black tour, and E. Tho gamo was controlled by Mr. Georgo Nicholson,' also an All Black.

The gamo opened with a pretty piece of passing between E. Roberts and Bradley. Trentlw'.n attacked strongly for a while, the wii:d assisting them to keep AVcllington in .the lattor's twenty-five. • AVellington ■worked their opponents to the other t-nd of the field, and their backs were given soveral chalices, of which nothing came through tho wind interfering with the passes. Back again in tho Wellington twenty-five, Trenthani used their backs a little, but offside play spoiled their , work. However, Wellington wero penalised, and E. Roberts kicked a g0a1... E. Perry, tho ex-Oriental forward,- took his place. (Wellington held their own for a little while, with the wind to aid- them, but 'Trentham soon began to outplay them, and from a forward rush A. Pooley got over. Bradley judged the wind nicely, and kicked a splendid goal. Trentham continued tho attack, and from a pass by E. Roberts Bradley scored a good try. ; Trontham, 23; Wellington;, 3.
