Chrlstohurch, September. 27. At the Education Conference ths Very Rev. Dean Regnault, on behalf of the'Marist Brothers, presented a paper on "Religion and Education." He said, in connection with the principles actuating a certain section of the community to maintain our system of education, that there was a belief that to prepare for complete living secular and religious instruction must go hand in hand, as it would be futile to attempt to train a child in the inoral laws unless religion was' used as the basis of such teaching. During the discussion reference was mado by several speakers to the able and, tactful way in which the subjeot had been presented.
