An alteration is announced in the Wei-lington-Plcton-Nelson running. Commencing on Monday next the Mapourika will leave Wellington at ,110011 on Mondays and Thursdays only, for Picton and Nelson, returning via Picton. There will be no intermediate trip to Picton as recently inaugurated. GISBORNE PUTS IN FOR REPAIRS, The auxiliary schooner, which arrived in the Btream at Wellington about 11 o'clock on Wednesday night was not as at first thought the Iluuto, but the Gisborne, bound from Dunedin to Kaipara. She put in here for repairs to her rigging and machinery. ' This work will be carried out while the Gisborne is an. chored in the stream.
Mr. Zohrab advises that it ib now expected that the Calm will load here tomorrow for Wanganm. The Northern wairoa Timber Company intends building a fou<r-masted schooner from a design and plans br Mr. R. O. Cross, lately marine superintendent to the Bast Coast Co-operative Fveejinir Co.. of Whakatane, A start is to be made in a few weeks' time. The ve6Bel will bo about 200 ft. over all. 35ft. beam, and will have a depth of hold of 16ft. She is to be built of kauri, with Australian hardwood main pieces. A new slipway is to be laid down, and is to be covered with a. shod, completely housing the vessel while under construction.
The Monowai oh this trip north will not make the customary call at Wellington on Sunday as announced yesterday. She is to leave Lyttelton to-morrow for Napier. Gisborne, and Auckland. Tlio Rosamond Ib to leave Gisborne this morning for Nnpier on her way to Wellington. She should bo here on Sunday to load transhipments for Lyttelton.

The steamer Glaucus arrived from Surprise Island at Auckland on Tuesday evening to discharge part of her guano cargo. She is to leave for Wellington to discharge the balanco, and is due here oil Monday night. Messrs. Cathie. Dempster, and Co. adviso that, she ia to sail from Wellington about Wednesday r.ext direct for Bluff, Where sho will load timber for Melbourne.
The Union Company will dispatch the Komata for Westport at 11 o'clock to-night with passengers and cargo, and the Ivaru for New Plymouth and Greymouth to-mor-row with general cargo. The Waitemata, Steamship Company s steamer Oneroa was sold by auction at Auckland on Tuesday owing to the compnay having gone into liquidation. There was no reserve on the vessel, which was knocked down at £500 to a buyer whose identity was not disclose-:!.' The Oneroa was built- by Bailey and Lowe in 1904, and waa formerly known as the l'itoitoi. She is 70ft-. long by 16ft. beam, and 4ft. Bin. in depth. She is fitted with a surface condensing engine of 100 h.p., and is c?rablc of steaming about- seven Iniols. The proposal to construct a new wharf at the end of the Bay reclamation was adopted on Tuesday by the Auckland Harbour Board. The «eliomo will provide a fcrro-conerete landing, to lis used bv vessels discharging case-cI, coal, and timber.
