Tlic milk Question again cropped up, the chairman saying that .as vne city was the largest contributor to tho lunds ol the .Hospital, and there was a possibility of the city being ablo to supply, they had met the Aullc Committee and had placed their requirements before' thepi. Mrs. Ait-ken asked if the Farm Committee had visited- a farm last week. .Receiving a reply in the affirmative, Mrs. Aitken said that .she Imd preferred a request to visit the farm with the committee, but; had nit received any notice or invitation, (she protested agaiust these hole-and-corner committees, and said that every member ol' the hoard, if sufficiently interested, had a-right to go just as much as any other member of the board. The chairman demurred, stating that Mrs. Aitken was scarcely correct. When a special committee' was appointed it had certain work to do, and had subsequently to report to the board. Mrs. Aitken still protested that she had not- been treated fairly. Tho Hawcra Case. The Charitable Aid Committee reported: •"j'htu in reference to tlic maintenance of a certain child from tho J-lawera district, which was the subject of a recommendation in the committee's report for August, the llawera Hospital Board has explained that by an inadvertence its action had been incorrectly represented in its letter of August 19, tho board having, in fact, formally resolved to accept liability." The chairman (Air. D. Campbell) explained ill reference to the above that the secretary of tho Hawera Board had misunderstood a letter.- The board bad recognised the liability and the matter had been cleared up. The report was adopted. Finance and Property Report. The following report' of tho Fiuance, Property, and Policy Committee was adopted. "That the following accounts for tlic month be passed for payment:—Wellington Hospital, i'71)77 2s. 9d.; Charitable Aid and Ohiro Home, £G59 12s. 6d.; head office, £298 3s. 3d, j public health, £51 17s. Sd.: total, £898ti 16s. 2d. ... "That the tender c-f E. F. Richardson had been accepted for the installation of electric lighting at the new Fever Hospital. "That a lease be granted to Mr. AV. Waddol of a port-ion ■of Hie leasehold now under Wse to Airs. AY. H. George, on the, usual terms. "'That a Glasgow lease- be granted to Jlrs. t\ K. Izard of the property now under lease to her, which expires in May, 192-1, on the tiHttal terms, subject to tho value of the improvements being paid for, in terms of tho board's resolution Of September 20, 1917. "Bad debts amounting to £384!) 4s. be written off."
