Sir, —In referring to the fact thnt one of the four new members of the Waitomata. Chamber of Commerce is a woman, The Dominion states that it is believed to be the first time a woman has been elected a, member of a chamber of commerce in New Zealand. This, I , regret to say, is ehattered. In 1907 the Eketalmna CliainW of Commerce hud three lady members—n]] in business here. And from ifldS i.o 1913 one lady member, who I might say, took a lw ppwnl interest in the working of that body, and slip vflsisrn n tl on civii'T nn business and leaving tho- town.
