GREAT VICTORY DEVELOPING IN MACEDONIA ENEMY RETREATING ON 94-MIL3 FRONT ALLIES IN CLOSE PURSUIT (Rcc. September 25, 1.30 a.m.) London, September 2-1. A French Eastern communique states:—"Tho Allied successes in Macedonia are attaining the character of a great victory. The Franco-Serb advanco towards tho MiddJe Vardar has compelled the enemy along his whole front of 94 miles between Monastir and Doinin to retreat precipitately, with the Allied troops closely pursuing. North-east of Monastir. we have reached a lino from Moeili to Kanatalartie and Kalyani, while the Serbians marching on Prilop and tho Bitbuna Pass have reached the Vardar from Demirkapu to Gradsko. Some detachments have already crossed tho river. On the right bank, in tho Vardar Valley, the Allied troops arc beyond the lino (here tho names are mangled and 7?V intelligible). On tho left bank we havo carried Chevghcli and also the whole of the enemy's first lino as far as Lake Doiran. The enemy's rearguards are endeavouring to stem the pursuit. The enemy'e columns on the roads in the region of Monastir, Krushevo, and Prelip are fleeing in indescribable disorder under incessant fire from aircraft bombing and machinegunning. Numerous villages and dumps are burning. Some prisoners \and guns and enormous booty have been captured, including two longrnnge guns.
